I am a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University, working with Prof. Sumit Paudyal on power system modeling and simulation.
Research interests
- Dynamic phasor and electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation
- Inverter-based resources (IBRs) and WECC generic renewable models
- Cyber-physical security of PMU networks
- Machine learning for power systems
My current work develops multi-frequency dynamic phasor methods that keep the accuracy of EMT simulation at larger time steps, tested on systems such as the IEEE 39-bus network. For the ORNL RE-INTEGRATE project, I implement WECC renewable and wind turbine models in C++ for an EMT solver. I also work on securing IEEE C37.118 PMU data with public-key cryptography and SRAM physically unclonable functions in a hardware-in-the-loop testbed with OPAL-RT.
I received my B.E. in Electrical Engineering with distinction from Pulchowk Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, where my thesis studied control of transformerless grid-connected PV inverters.
